I always appreciate people who come forward and try to help others. So in case you feel you have any content that is of some relevancy and usefulness to other civil engineers be it a presentation, report, any file, videos, pictures etc do mail to me at
or just comment on the box below and one of our editors will contact you as soon as possible.
Thanks for being the part of your very own website
Sir, pls tell me the any realation between strength & the weight of the concrete cube
if the weight is close to the theoretical weight, the concrete is good and dense – less porous. dense concre will have good strength. this is the basis for all ultrasonic pulse velocity tests. they dont find the strength, they find the density. good weight is an indication of good strength.
first you should be aware of a rate: water/cement..lets call this A..the more A is higher The less the strength of concrete.A should be 0.5,0.6 for a concrete of 20MPa for instance.in 2285kg concrete theres 770 kg agragates..and the rest is cement or water according to the rate(what I called A)
My suggestion is that there is no relation between wieght and concrete rather there is a relation between density and strength . obbsreve if the density is directly proportional to impermeability a more impermeable concrete cube is highly active under heavy loads as thier moment of resistence(strength) is more
I’m presently in the second year of my BE course.I would like to know about internships available in south india for civil engineering students.
hi vimal babu,
if u r interested in internships then i suggest u apply in NIO goa.
hello sir,i read the details in NIO goa but there is some problem in it.I’m appling for a dissertation project in it but there condition is that ma course curriculam should include oceanography and its not in ma course. So please suggest any other place where i can search for projects.
thank you.
hi sir,
i am a BE studuent.give me any innovative idea in our field.bcozi have to do the project.pls help me sir.
innovative idea? investigate about sismic isolators ..you can look in youtube.com)
do the structural with bamboo sticks it works very well for small projects, apply the structural criterion’s and compare with the traditional design methods using hysd steel and find the difference
Hi gunaekari,
if u r able to work hard then try this.
1. Learn the whole theory regarding Limit state design
2. Then take M80 grade concrete and generate the stress strain relationship and get the new limit state design for that grade.
3. Show, how this design works.
You try in economic construction. this is large project and useful in future.
pless share with me information about kerb..im in final project now..
sir
is a concrete homogeneous material? pl explain
yes defenetily.. even though concre is made from different properties of material like fine aggregatre, coasrse aggregatre, cement and water.. after mixing it is assumed that all will have same property . so concrete is homogeneous material only
How calculate the productivity of Carpenter, mason& fitter
There is no theoretical calculation for labour output. we have to assess the productivity based on a similar environment. We have to refer the labour payment details of a recently completed similar project. From there, we can arrive at the productivity.
for example: sft of slab shuttering for carpenter, cft of brickwork for mason, kg of steel reinforcement for fitter etc
sir rit now am in my 3rd btech
can u pls suggest me where i can get summer projects or internships other then iits….
can someone help me, I need to find a link wherein there is a evaluation of how important minor subjects are for civil engineering students. thanks
i need an idea to make a good civil engg. project. in collg can sum1 suggest anything. it should be something that can that give publicity to the civil department of the collg. nit jsr something like a mega project that meets standards of groundbreaking research or mebbe helps us win some kind of international competitions for best idea. also post if you know of such competitions for engg. students as well.ABSOLUTELY ANY KIND of information might be helpful so dont hesitate to put any idea that comes into ur mind that’ll help us. ALSO u may give us info on the CHALLENGES OF MODERN CIVIL ENGG. and ANY NEWS ABT CIVIL ENGG. and innovations
Hello! can someone help me for my thesis?
I’m studying end modelling the structure of George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal by Pier Luigi Nervi, but i’m not able to find the materials which were used. so, there is someone that know what kind of reinforced concrete was used in the 1960? or where can i find the ACI used in the ’60s?
thank’s a lot to all
I need a suggest anythin if i wanna make a highway transpotation prject.
Dear Nandar,
Today we had lots of research and based on that codes for construction methodology.
But you may adopt the subject on evaluation of the same by taking performance study of sample roads.
Ple reply me if you are interested.
Dear can any could u give me the details of mix design of Geopolymer concrete
Current evolution topic in civil eng . is Utilization of Granite Dust which causes Major envir Problems . it contains silca as main part we can go for the further investigation
i would like to know the various projects which one can work upon during training..n frm were i can get ideas fr same..
Sir.. Can anybody tell me some idea on project related to earthquake resistent structures?
how to count totaL Load of bridges???
it will be counted as per metric run
in1 cu m 1000n/mm2
sir, i am in need of ” guyed mast tower ” design Procedure for IS & BS-code(eurocode). Can any one help me ..
and it will be depend upon its thicness
SIR pl tell me the weight brass hollow bar or bronze hallow bar calculation formula DIA140 mm,ID 40 mm Length 300 mm
A sample of wood has a moisture content of 24%. Its dimensions are 1.45×3.45x6in. The weights of the sample in green and oven dry conditions are .61lbs and .55lbs respectively. Find the specific gravity.
(The formula for moisture content is : Moisture content = [(green wood – oven dry wood)/oven dry wood ]x 100
My question is with the dry and green weights stated, how can the moisture content be at 24%
