Is structure engineering troubling you?
Do you face problems in solving even the basic problems?

If yes then look no further as engineeringcivil.com along with Er. Gobind Khurana and Er. Abhimanyu has taken an initiative to help civil engineering students in structure related queries. We are thankful to Er. Gobind Khurana, Er. Abhimanyu and Vincent T. H. CHU for being a volunteer in helping other engineers in solving problems related to structure design in R.C.C and Steel.

Hii sir,
My house is of column structure. I want to remove a wall lying at the middle of the house. Is it possible that by giving pillar and beam in suitable position i can remove that wall?

Hi,
I have multi stair building, due to rains, not found sand 1st floor slab was stopped since 19th september’2020 and Tats steel was fixed for flab, it was wetting rains. what is precautions I should take while putting slab to avoid rusting.

Thanks,
Veerababu.

Assuming a linear speed-density relationship, the mean free speed is observed to be 60 mph at zero density, and the corresponding jam density is 140 veh/mi.
a) Write down the speed-density and flow-density equations
b) Find qmax
c) Find Headway and Spacing at qmax
d) Compute the speed and density corresponding to a flow of 1000 veh/hr
e) Draw the v-k, v-q and q-k diagrams indicating critical values.
2) A school zone(20 mph) of ¼ mile length is located on a 40 mph highway. Stream measurements at various sections upstream, middle of the school zone, and just downstream of the school zone are respectively as follows:
Approaching zone : qA = 1000 veh/hr, vA= 40mph
Middle of zone : qB = 1100 veh/hr, vB= 20mph
Downstream of zone: qC =1200 veh/hr, vC= 30mph
Sketch the q-k-v curves and indicate critical values. Calculate the intensity and direction of the shock waves created by the speed zone and the time required to disperse it?(Assume the speed zone restrictions operate for only 15 min during morning and evening periods).
3) Draw a time distance sketch showing the front and rear of the platoon at any time from the start of the speed zone enforcement until such time as the platoon has completely dispersed based on previous Problem. need the solution to the problems

Sir, I’m from ladakh. My question is
1. Can we do concrete work in minus temperature?
2. Since the temperature in ladakh goes upto -25°C. Can we use rapidite or other anti freezing agent for concrete works.
Thanking you

Sir I want to know whether slab can be provided for the load bearing structure which is having basement floor with stone masonry of 2′ and gf with 1.5′ stone masonry n slab over it n now ff construction is done using light weight bricks n column points are been taken at the point where gf 1.5′ walls are present.so now on ff can we put slab concrete of 6″ (15cm)???

I just want to know if it necessary to get a clearance from MEP team prior to block wall construction in a particular area? Because it’s been a major issue in our current progress that I experienced after the block wall construction, MEP teams asking for the openings.. What would be the best solution and root cause of this
