Various Lab Test On Concrete

There are many tests which are conducted to check the quality of concrete. These tests are basically divided into two categories
1. Various Lab Test On Fresh Concrete.
Under these, we have the following tests
a) Slump Test – Workability
b) Compacting Factor
c) Vee- Bee Test

2.Various Lab Test On Hardened Concrete.

There are two kinds of tests which are done on hardened concrete. These are non destructive test and destructive tests. In non destructive test, the sample is not destroyed and this test is very useful in determining the strength of existing buildings or structures where as in destructive test a sample is made and then destroyed to find out the strength of concrete.Compression test is the example of destructive test. Here are the nondestructive tests.

b) Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Test

If the limitations are produced, it wil be a ful meals .now it is like a tiffin.
better to produce limitations and slump ranges, effect of slump on concrete.

slump ranges in industrial structures, marine structures.

Suresh says:

Respected Sir,
I want to know how to determine the compressive test on concrete cubefby compressive testing machine and it is converted Kilograms from Newton.
Pls. send me the total calculation.

plz give me testing method of freshconcrete in detil

nur imani says:

dear sir, i want to know about compressive strength cube test..
please send me all the information about this test including the example of the result, procedure and conclusion about this experiment..

Hi
i want to know about workability of concrete test
if u can send me disscussion of it please….

cesc says:

will the addition of water gave the ready mixed concrete a desired water/cement ratio
as i known too much water will make the strenght n durability of concrete weaker whereas
too less of water will make the difficulty of conrete to place so please kindly give me a
solution

MANISH says:

dear sir, i want to know about compressive strength cube test..
please send me all the information about this test including the example of the result, procedure and conclusion about this experiment and 1KN=101.97KG HOW?.

SEENI T RAJ says:

I have made a design mix for C50 concrete and the weight of materials for 1 m3 concrete is 2360Kg. But the cube 150x150x150 weighs 8.36Kg which gives the density of 2477Kg/m3. How is this happened?
Sp.gravity of aggregate is 2.65 and the sand is 2.62. void ratio is assumed as 2%.

my seminor on “workability in fresh concrete”. the conclusion in this topic.

ravisankar says:

sir,
when silica fume is used in concrete, ” how the strengths are increased by 85% is it right or wrong.
If right what is the reason
If wrong what is the reason

of various tests.

Gokul dev joshi says:

Dear sir how can i find the water cement ratio on site? Pls send the solution

nour says:

i had love to please have a sample of the compaction factor test of concrete and also know a way how to analyse a result gotten in any laboratory test of concrete and factors that might had influence the result gotten. thanks.

Sanjay B. Lande says:

For conducting compressive strength of concrete , The cubes are placed
between upper & lower jaws of the machine,Fix the upper jaw plate tightly
on the top surface of the cube. Apply the load gradually as per the rate
specified. Observe the hair cracks appearing on front side of the cube
Note the dial gouse reading on the machine.

dear cesc: u can maintain w/c ratio with the addition of proper admiture, different types of admixtures r used for various purposes e.g for initial & Final setting time, for avoid seggrigation of concrete or for maintain the w/c ratio …
plz search the topic admixtures are used for ur purpose

Minimum Compressive strength of cube is required after 28days … depends upon the design mix..
if u hav M20 design Mix then Minimum 20 N/mm2 or we can say 20 MPa sterength is required Otherwise Sample is Rejected ….
similarly for M25 strength after 28days more than 25N/mm2 or MPa.

Dan says:

Sir;

with regards to concrete compressive strength test, why are the samples taking during the pouring of concrete on site? If the batch samples fail, that would mean that the concrete used had insufficient strength based on the test result.

Shouldn’t it be done before the use of the concrete in order to determine if the concrete that will be poured has adequate strength?

thanks!
