PRITHWIS MAJUMDER says:

in ready mix concrete the workability of concrete plays a vital role in achieving desired strength of concrete. But in practical what is happen actually is this the period of time elapsed after a significant distance travel by concrete loaded carrier vehicle from plant to work site is more than limiting period and it is seen that operating personals adding water from top during the rolling motion of container time to time while the vehicle at halt at work site so as to avoid blockage of pipe line during pumping.
such practice of adding extra water to avoid setting of concrete in the pipe line significantly affect the strength of desired concrete and as a result for example the desired strength of M25 concrete may come down to M15 concrete due to hamper in water cement ratio.
